Church Hill Classics Announced Student Photographer Winner of Sports Photo Scholarship Contest

Monroe, CT – August 6, 2012- Church Hill Classics (CHC) declared the Winner of a $500 scholarship and Varsity Letter Frame, the top prize in its nationwide Sports Photo Scholarship Contest 2012. The Winner is Megan Robertson of Tewksbury, Massachusetts.  CHC, a leading U.S. manufacturer and online retailer in the college diploma frame industry, and expanding into high school and college athletic framing, held the Sports Photo Scholarship Contest to reach out to student athletes, to acknowledge their dedication, and help support their education.

The Winner of the Scholarship Contest was determined after a public vote which ran from July 17 through July 26, 2012.  Megan's photo, which received the most votes, won the contest. She had snapped a photo of Amherst College's softball team celebrating a walk-off victory.  Megan currently attends Amherst College where she is a student photographer.

CHC's Sports Photo Scholarship Contest was open to all high school and college varsity athletes who will be attending college full-time for the 2012-2013 academic year.  To enter this contest, a celebratory photo that displayed the ‘true celebration of a sport' had to be submitted.  The athletes needed to either be in the photo or could have taken the photo.

There were over 250 entrants who submitted a celebratory sports photo. CHC judged the photos based on the spirit and emotion of the celebration, and selected 11 lucky Finalists, who each won their own custom varsity letter frame. A new trend with student athletes is framing their varsity letters so that they can both preserve and display their athletic achievement.

Then the public voted on their favorite sports photo from the 11 Finalists. The Finalists reached out to their social networks, family, friends, blogs, local newspapers, and other outlets to receive votes.

The Sports Photo Scholarship Contest 2012 allowed athletes to share their passion for sports while competing for a scholarship to help further their education.
