Preparing Your Document
If your document has been stored flat, skip ahead to “Framing Your Document.”
If your document has been rolled up in a tube, you will need to flatten it. For best results, we recommend that you do this as soon as possible after receiving your document. You may do this by applying weight to the unrolled document for a few days. A clean flat surface and books work well. If you need assistance, you may want to contact either a local framer, or call us at 800-477-9005.
Framing Your Document
1) Lay the frame face down on a towel. Open the frame back by bending the black flexible tabs upward (Fig. 1). Remove the mat and backing board material.

2) Center your document on the white mounting board. Place the mat over the document and center it beneath the mat opening (Fig. 2). Once the document is centered, remove the mat.

3) Open the small envelope labeled “Archival Corner Hinges & Mounting Strips.” Peel away the release backing from one mounting corner.

4) Loosely slip the mounting corner over a corner of the document, allowing an extra space of 1/16" from its edge (Fig. 3). This will provide room for the natural expansion of the paper and help prevent buckling. Adhere the corner directly to the white board. Repeat for each corner.

5) Next, loosely apply the straight strips at the top and bottom of the document (centered), (Fig. 4). The adhesive backing attaches to the mounting board.

6) Place the mat on top of the mounted document.

7) Remove any dust from the mat, document and glass. Place the mat and mounted document face down on the glass. To secure, press the flexible points down against the surface of the black backboard. Hang using the sawtooth hanger.
Enjoy your framed document!
