Hannah Chen  Baton Rouge, LA
School:  Georgia Institute of Technology
A Japanese legend says if a person makes a 1,000 paper cranes, it will grant his or her wishes. By working with my classmates, the cranes were donated to the Ochsner Chemotherapy Department so the patients could be encouraged by the hope and joy of the cranes. Just as I encouraged my peers to fold cranes, I took a simple object and brought out its fullest potential as a 3D figure. As a future engineer, I frame my future by using my spatial skills and creativity to bring peace and hope to others.
